Fundraiser planning underway

Details are being confirmed for Blair Rotary's annual fundraiser Feb. 6 at South Creek Conference Center.

Rotarian Jim Nelson said social hour is planned for 5 to 6 p.m., followed by an invocation, announcements and a buffet-style dinner at 6:30 p.m. A Rotary video will play during the dinner. There will also be a silent auction; Dave Ladwig and Terry Dutton are the organizers.

Jim's band will play until about 8:15 or 8:30 p.m. Fever and the Funkhouse will play from about 8:45 .m. until midnight, or when the crowd thins out.

Tickets will probably go on sale the first week of December. About 36 or 38 tables total are recommended for the facility, with eight people per table.

Club business

President Chris Boswell said Rotarian Amie Clausen has suggested the club start mentoring new members. Jim Nelson was awarded a pin for bringing on a new club member, Jordan Rishel.

September Student of the Month

Rotary's Student of the Month for August is Kiah Shaw, daughter of Rhonda Shaw. She plans to attend the College of St. Mary to study nursing. She would like to be a neonatal nurse and possibly a traveling nurse.
